Before committing to a vehicle, ask the bank whether financing is available for its age, mileage and seller type.

What could it cost monthly?

Start with your own numbers. The vehicle price below is an example, not a bank offer.

Fixed-payment loan estimate

Enter a rate to explore, not an APR.

Planning input, not available bank terms.

Include a trade-in, payoff or additional costs

Do not repeat costs already in the price.

Estimated value, before loan payoff.

Ask the bank if this can be financed.

Add an interest rate and repayment period to see your estimated monthly payment and total interest.

For planning only, not a quote or approval. Assumes a fixed interest rate and equal monthly payments. Excludes fees unless you add them above. Totals use unrounded calculations; actual payments may differ. Does not include ongoing vehicle expenses. Calculator limits are not bank lending limits.

Before you buy

Look beyond
the sticker price.

A little preparation can make the conversation about your next car more useful.

  1. Bring the vehicle details

Have the asking price, model year, mileage and seller information ready. Ask the bank which vehicles and purchase types it can finance.

  2. Include the extras

Allow for sales tax, title and registration, insurance and potential repairs. Enter any costs you plan to finance in the calculator’s additional-cost fields.

  3. Compare more than the payment

A longer term can lower a monthly payment while increasing total interest. Ask about the rate, fees, total cost and available terms before deciding.

Before you take the next step

A few good
questions to ask.

Use the estimate as a starting point.
A conversation fills in the details.

Find your local office ↓
Can the bank finance an older car or a private-party purchase?

Vehicle eligibility and seller requirements need to be confirmed with the bank. Call with the vehicle’s model year, mileage, price and seller details before making a financing decision.

How does the calculator handle a trade-in?

Open the trade-in and additional-cost fields. Enter the estimated trade-in value and any amount still owed on it separately. The calculator subtracts the value and adds the payoff to the estimated amount borrowed. This does not mean the bank will finance an existing balance.

Does this include every cost of owning the car?

No. The payment estimate includes principal and interest, plus only the additional costs you choose to enter as financed. Insurance, maintenance, fuel and other ongoing costs are not included.

Is this a loan quote or a credit application?

No. The estimate uses your inputs, not an approved bank rate. Nothing is submitted and no credit check is performed. Ask the bank about loan availability, current terms and how to apply.

The next step is a conversation
