Zelle® is a fast, safe and easy way to send money directly between almost any bank accounts in the U.S., typically within minutes1. With just an email address or U.S. mobile phone number, you can send money to people you trust, regardless of where they bank2.
Send money to people you trust. Only people you trust.
Zelle® moves money in minutes and payments to enrolled users cannot be canceled. Neither Greenville Savings Bank nor Zelle® offers purchase protection for payments made with Zelle®; if you buy something from a stranger and it never arrives, the money is gone. Treat it like cash: family, friends, the babysitter, the personal trainer. Not online marketplaces or people you do not know.
Getting started
- Log in to online banking or the mobile app and select Send Money with Zelle®.
- Enter your email address or U.S. mobile phone number and the one-time verification code you receive.
- Accept the terms, and you are ready to send, request, and receive.
Sending, requesting, receiving
Send: pick someone from your contacts or add a trusted recipient’s email or U.S. mobile number, enter the amount, review, and hit Send. In most cases the money is available to your recipient in minutes1.
Request: choose Request, select who you are requesting from, enter the amount, review, and send it3.
Receive: share your enrolled email or U.S. mobile number with the sender. Already enrolled? The money moves into your account automatically, typically within minutes1. Not yet enrolled? Follow the link in the payment notification, select your financial institution, and enroll with the same email address or mobile number the payment was sent to.
Common questions
Can I cancel a payment? Only if the recipient has not yet enrolled with Zelle®. Go to your activity page, choose the payment, and select Cancel This Payment. If they are already enrolled, the money went straight to their bank account and cannot be canceled, which is why the trust rule above matters. Sent to the wrong person? Ask them for it back, and contact us if you cannot recover it.
How does it work behind the scenes? When you enroll, your name, your financial institution, and your enrolled email or mobile number are shared with Zelle®; sensitive account details are not. Payments are routed to your bank account through that directory.
Can I use it internationally? No. Both sender and recipient need U.S.-based bank accounts.
What if the other bank does not offer Zelle®? A full list of participating banks and credit unions is at zellepay.com. Recipients at non-participating banks are prompted to enroll when you send.
Where is my Zelle® QR code? In the Greenville Savings Bank app, open Send Money with Zelle® and your Zelle® settings. Always confirm the displayed recipient name before sending.
