Banking services

A backup plan for an occasional shortfall.

Ask how eligible linked accounts or a personal line of credit may help cover transactions.

Overdraft protection covers a check, ACH transaction, or electronic transfer that would take your checking balance below zero, by transferring funds automatically from another Greenville Savings Bank account you designate: a statement savings account, another checking account, or a line of credit (subject to credit approval).*

How it works

Without overdraft protection, a transaction that exceeds your balance can trigger an overdraft fee or be returned for non-sufficient funds (NSF), and NSF transactions can be expensive. With overdraft protection, we cover the shortfall from your linked account and charge a service fee, sometimes called a courtesy fee, so the transaction still goes through.
